Session Abstract: Managing a small training department, especially when you are the only trainer, can be daunting. Your personal skill and competency level has a significant effect on your ability to deliver effective training. What competencies do you need to have a positive impact on your organization? This session will help you to discover and learn way s to develop essential business, personal, technical, and HRD competencies to help you succeed. As a result you will create a personal development plan to build your competence and resilience and get up to speed quickly.

    Small Training Department - Big Impact Workshop

    ASTD International Conference 2003(May 20, 2003)-- Managing a small training department may seem daunting, yet small departments can have a big impact when they use resources wisely. This interactive session will help HRD managers and trainers in small departments make a significant contribution to their organizations. Participants will share success strategies and learn to build credibility and gain support for initiatives, to focus efforts for impact, and to make the best use of scarce resources.
    As a result of this workshop, you will be able to:
  • Identify strategies and tactics to build credibility and support for training
  • Identify ways to make the best use of resources (internal and external resources, dollars, technology)

  • Impact Your Training to Achieve Success: Train-the-Trainer Table Talk Series (Feb. 21, 2003; 7:30-10:00 am) from ASTD, New Hampshire Chapter. Location: Hampton, NH.     Maine ASTD Annual Conference a Huge Success!
    More than 60 companies and 120 people participated in the two-day conference. There were participants from Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Florida and South Dakota.
